At 5:30 PM, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel for an evening excursion. You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the bustling traffic and vibrant streets of Saigon — a great chance to capture photos of the city’s dynamic energy and local life.
Overnight in Saigon.
You will meet your guide at your hotel in Saigon and drive through the Mekong Delta to the town of Vinh Long. Upon arrival, you’ll take a boat trip to visit a brick & pottery factory, a bonsai garden or an orchard. You will enjoy some Southern traditional music performed by the local people and a sumptuous Delta lunch, including the popular dish of “Elephant ear fish.” You will then drive to the heart of Mekong Delta: Can Tho and stay overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a boat trip to visit the famous Cai Rang Floating Market — the largest of its kind in the Mekong Delta. Here, each boat specializes in selling a specific item such as pumpkins, pineapples, or sugar cane. To advertise their goods, vendors hang a sample of their product from a tall pole on the boat, creating a colorful and lively scene on the water.
The afternoon is free at leisure, offering you a chance to relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere at one of the most comfortable properties in the Mekong Delta.
Later in the afternoon, experience an authentic countryside bike tour through the hidden gems of Can Tho. Visit a local organic cacao farm, explore peaceful homegrown fruit gardens, wander through charming hidden villages, rice fields, and vegetable farms. This four-hour cycling journey along canal-side roads takes you beyond the typical tourist routes, offering genuine insight into the rural life and culture of the Mekong people.
Overnight in Can Tho.
You will leave Can Tho and head for Chau Doc. This amazing journey takes 4 hours and the town is situated right on the Bassac River, close to the Cambodian border. You will stop to visit the Binh Duc incense stick village and the crocodile farm on the way.
Upon a arrival in Chau Doc, check in at your hotel then rest. At about 5 pm, head to the top of Sam Mountain for the sunset landscape pictures. Overnight in Chau Doc.
Start the day at 5 to get to a palmyra field with the typical trees of Chau Doc. It is a marvelous scene with the trees silhouettes reflecting on the water and the rising sun on the horizons. There are also farmers going to the fields with farming tools on their shoulders or a buffalo if you are lucky. Next stop is a Khmer pagoda. You will capture photos of a very important part of the native Khmer life style. Tour guide will brief this cultural feature to you.
Move to the river to have a model photo shoot with some traditionally dressed local lady working on lotus/ water lily flowers. After lunch, go to Ta Pa Hill. The high ground here offers excellent views looking down the rice fields of Chau Doc. Use of tele lens is recommended. A wide lens is also needed for the picture of the Ta Pa Lake with water in emerald color. Last stop of the day: Tra Su Paperbarks Swamp. In this forest sanctuary, a wide variety of colorful birds and other animals can be found here: storks, bats, snakes, turtles ... The locals in this area built their houses with bamboo canes and fastened the roofs in trees. Overnight in Chau Doc.
Start the day with a morning visit to the vibrant market of Chau Doc. Spend around 45 minutes capturing the lively atmosphere and daily life of local people through your lens — a wonderful opportunity for candid market scenes and authentic portraits.
Next, board a motorboat for a scenic ride along the river, passing through the fish farming areas where you’ll learn about traditional aquaculture practices of the Mekong locals.
Continue by boat to a Cham ethnic minority village. Upon arrival, explore the village streets, interact with the friendly native Cham people, and photograph scenes of daily life.
