Begin the morning with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to hear about the man who led Vietnam’s campaign for independence from French colonial rule. After dedicating his life to the liberation of his country from foreign rule, Ho Chi Minh died in 1969 and his body was preserved for posterity. Continue to the Quan Thanh Temple which is dedicated to the Gods to protect the north of the city and afterwards visit another 11th century relic, the Temple of Literature, which was built in homage to the Chinese scholar Confucius. Stop at the University of Vietnam built in 1076 and then the Hoa Lo (Hanoi Hilton) prison.
After lunch visit, you will enjoy cyclo ride through the busting Old Quarter, visit the Lake of the Returned Sword and Ngoc Son Temple at the late evening of the day. Stop at famous Hanoi Train Street. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast leave Hanoi for an overnight boat trip on Halong Bay. Journey there through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta, observing everyday life of Vietnamese villagers along the way.Arrive in Halong City late morning and board the boat for the overnight journey into the Bay. Lunch will be served en route, whilst cruising along the bay’s iconic limestone formations. Towards the end of the day set anchor for the night. As the sun sets over the bay, dinner is served on board with fresh seafood, salads, and fruits. Overnight in Halong Bay
For early risers, complimentary tea and coffee are served on the sundeck followed by a Tai Chi class. On the cruise back to Halong City, enjoy a wholesome brunch as the boat weaves back to port through strange-shaped limestone rock formations. Upon disembarkation, the guide will pick up and provide a private transfer to airport for fly to Hue. Guide pick up in Hue, transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight in Hue.
Take a morning boat cruise on the peaceful Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and then take a car to the poetic mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh. In the afternoon, proceed to visit the Imperial Citadel - The spectacular Citadel houses a series of palaces, ornate halls, libraries, residences and colleges. Visit Dong Ba Market before back to hotel. Overnight in Hue
Drive along the coast and via mountain passes to Hoi An with a stop en route at the photogenic village of Lang Co Beach. Visit the Cham Museum in Da Nang which houses the world’s finest collection of Cham artworks before proceeding to Hoi An. Visit Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the town. Overnight in Hoi An
Guide pick up and transfer to Danang airport for flight to Saigon. Guide pick up in Saigon, have lunch at local restaurant. Then drive to Cu Chi Tunnels. We then spend time exploring the maze of tunnels including innumerable trap doors, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. These tunnels consisted of many ‘moving parts’ making them a livable structure for long periods of time. We then drive back to Saigon and end the Cu Chi Tunnels tour. Check in hotel, free time for rest. Overnight in Saigon.
Breakfast at hotel. We start this day tour by a visit to The Reunification Palace. This is one of the most important buildings in the city. Continue to The Post Office Center for the best examples of classical French colonial architecture in Saigon, Notre Dame Cathedral and War Remnants Museum, which formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes.
Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will go to Thien Hau Pagoda, and Binh Tay Market. Come back to your hotel around 5:00 pm. Explore Saigon by night on bike. Overnight in Saigon
Arrive at Ben Tre Town, get on boat to cruise along the Ben Tre river. Visit a brick workshop where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand. Then we go through the zigzag canals to visit local a coconut processing workshop where you can try fresh coconut candy and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products.
The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can visit a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – you can even have a go at weaving by yourself! Enjoy some tropical fresh fruits and have a cycling tour to experience real Mekong Delta village life. Stop at a riverside restaurant for a delicious and filling lunch, featuring such local specialties as elephant-ear fish, freshwater prawns, washed down with some cold drinks or beers.
After lunch. You will then hop onto a “tuk tuk" for a fun ride through the coconut forest. You will then get back on your tuk tuk and head to a rowing boat station. Drive to Can Tho for overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel take a boat trip to the Cai Rang floating market. Here, each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples or sugar cane. To alert customers where to shop, vendors hang that item from the highest part of the boat. Back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
Free until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your departure.
